Tony
Mitchell,
President
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As
a third term president of the Pathfinders Ski Club, and 15
year veteran of the slopes, and now a converted snow
boarder, I am proud to announce that interest & awareness of
winter sports is up in the Peoria area. As a native
Georgian, I know how difficult it is for underprivileged
youth to become exposed to such a time consuming expensive
sport such as skiing and snowboarding. Is my goal to
continue to promote the sport of skiing and to further our
relationship with kids in the community by working with
organizations like the Girls & Boys clubs of Greater Peoria.
As a practicing physician in very busy Anesthesia practice,
I know that that everybody’s time is limited but if we work
together as a team, we can achieve our goals.

Ski Philosophy:
You must push yourself outside your
comfort zone to improve! If you fall down, get right
back up with more determination. Skiing is great, but
Snow boarding is better.

Fields,
Vice President
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A
snowboarder inside and out, Toni has traveled with
the Pathfinders for the last year and now considers
Peoria her "home away from home." She looks forward
to her first year in office and is excited about
gaining more exposure for the Club. Toni has a heart
for connecting with young people and is an advocate
of using athletic principles as tools for
encouraging them to rise to their full potential.
She currently mentors at-risk youth and spends her
free time competing in marathons and triathlons.
Toni currently resides in Los Angeles and practices
law when it doesn't interfere with her "real life."

Ski Philosophy:
Skiing makes you hungry. Skiing is
also good exercise, which is useful before and after
eating Thanksgiving & Christmas Dinner. Skiing feels
cold on your face. Skiing feels warm if you wear lots of
glove and boot warmers and go fast. Skiing clears the
brain of complicated thoughts. Skiing is a good way of
disconnecting. Skiing results in a simple philosophy.
Skiing gives you energy for more demanding brain
exercises .^_^

After
enjoying many seasons as a skier, I kissed my skis
goodbye, when I discovered a new world of snowboarding.
I persevered, eventually, although it was not a pretty
picture. The challenges of snowboarding and learning to
master moguls on the snowboard creates a deep magnetism
to the sport. I volunteer as counselor for business
owners and homeowners in this adverse economic
environment. I use the analogy of snowboarding as
encouragement for clients. Although we will sometimes
fall in life, it's a blessing to have an opportunity to
stand up again.
